Who else wants to learn more about two of our most powerful and exciting BMW M Performance models?

The BMW M340i Saloon v the new BMW M440i Coupe.

BMW M Models are born on the racetrack. Inspired by BMW's rich motorsport history, M Models offer an outstanding combination of agility, dynamics and power. Equipped with powerful engines and M design enhancements, M Models are a statement of performance.

Here are the facts about these two models.

BMW M340i Saloon

Power Output - 374hp

0-62 - 4.4sec

BMW M440i Coupe

Power Output - 374hp

0-62 - 4.5sec

The Differences

The Design

Everyone so has been talking about the design of the new BMW 4 Series and the iconic front-end. The kidney grilles are much more pronounced as part of the new BMW 4 Series design language which forms a more loud front stance on the road. If you are in front of a BMW 4 Series Coupe, you certainly know it.

The BMW M340i still boasts modern design language in the Saloon form and that brings the benefits of 5 doors. The additional two doors means easier access for passengers and more versatility for taking more passengers or more luggage on trips. The BMW M340i still packs a punch even with the 5 doors and doesnt drop any performance, it actual can do 0-62mph in 0.1 second less than the BMW M440i. This means the BMW M440i has a sportier roofline consistent with a sporty Coupe and with just 3 doors gives an agile side profile that excites customers.

Size and Width

The BMW M440i Coupe wheelbase is 25mm wider than the M340i, helping with the agile handling that of a sporty Coupe over the Saloon model.  This overall size difference is marginal and also the total size is echoed as marginally different with the 3 Series being only 5 kilograms lighter than the 4 Series.
